The Story of Yasmeen

Empowering Independence: Yasmeen's Journey to Becoming a Home Artisan

Yasmeen, a 34-year-old woman with a locomotor disability, has overcome immense challenges. Living with her mother and elder brother, who works as a daily wage laborer, her life took a difficult turn when an accident in 11th grade left her unable to walk. Relying on crutches for mobility, Yasmeen faced an uncertain future.

Her journey took a positive shift when a local pastor referred her to Equip India for vocational training. Determined to change her life, Yasmeen completed the course successfully and is now a home artisan, earning around ₹4,000 per month. Her income enables her to buy essential grains for her family and save for her personal needs.

“Thanks to Equip India for supporting me in all areas. I am blessed to be a home artisan,” Yasmeen shares, grateful for the independence and stability her work now provides.
